The elite Sumo Cattle Company super-sire Sumo Michifuku F154 bred by the late Simon Coates. He is a World K's Michifuku son proven through the Sumo herd where he has averaged an incredible 8.3 MS with a 987.8 lbs HCW on 34 carcasses. He has 150 carcasses on his Breedplan proof producing elite EBVs of 2.7 MS, 1.14 MF, 8.9 EMA, and 27 CW (2026-02-24). F154 has produced many sale topping females and males in Australia and the USA. Including a daughter selling for $80,000 in the 2019 Elite Wagyu Sale and a son selling for $50,000. In 2020 a daughter topped the M6 Ranch sale for $50,000. F154's balance of growth, marbling, carcass weight, and ribeye area are what has set him apart and at the top of the breed indexes from the FTI to the SRI!
He combines Michifuku with his maternal grandsire TF Terutani 40/1, an outstanding sire who's genetics were never available outside Australia. 40/1 was Takeda bred and Sumo Wagyu proven and owned, he is renowned for making impressive females with fantastic maternal traits. 40/1 had carcass data published in the 2018 Wagyu Fullblood Sale catalog from Salisbury Wagyu and Sanjolincey Wagyu. On 106 carcasses in the Sanjolincey herd he was their 4th highest carcass weight bull and 8th highest marble score bull. This puts him in 4th place for their carcass value ranking behind Itohana 2, Overflow Kaneyama, and TF 148, but ahead of breed greats Michifuku, TF 151, TF 147, and 001. In the Salisbury herd 40/1 ranked 7th for ADG and 6th for MS making him one of the best overall sires in the herd.
