 Current breed leading sire Coates Itoshigenami G113 is putting together an impressive carcass proven resume. Bred by the late Simon Coates's renowned Sumo Cattle Company and proven in the Macquarie Wagyu herd. On 50 carcasses he is averaging a marble score of 8.5 and hot standing carcass weight of 513 kg (1,128.6 lbs) from 2021 quoted Macquarie data! In the 2022 Marble High catalog he was averaging a 488 kg HCW and 2/3 of his carcasses were MS 9 or 9+ on over 200 carcasses! His daughters were averaging a MS 8.9 and 438 kg carcass produced from their steers. Often described as a “freak combination of growth and marbling,” his genetics are in high demand with semen selling for a breed record $50,000/ straw in the 2021 Elite Wagyu Sale and two daughters selling for $100,000 and $80,000 in the 2019 Elite Sale. His Breedplan EBVs back everything up with an elite MS of 2.7 and CW of 61 on 204 carcasses (Fed 2 2024). A standout sire on the new Breeder-Feeder Index at $480! 

G113's sire, Sumo Itoshigenami C158 has produced excellent carcass outcomes for Sumo Wagyu averaging MS of 7.3 and CW of 443kg over 12 carcasses. C158 blends TF 148 and Michifuku with the superior matriarch TF Dai 2 Kinntou 3! 

G113's maternal grandsire is TF 40/1, an outstanding sire who's genetics were never available outside Australia. 40/1 was Takeda bred and Sumo Wagyu proven and owned, he is renowned for making impressive females with fantastic maternal traits. He had carcass data published in the 2018 Wagyu Fullblood Sale catalog from Salisbury Wagyu and Sanjolincey Wagyu. On 106 carcasses in the Sanjolincey herd he was their 4th highest car­cass weight bull and 8th highest marble score bull. This puts him in 4th place for their carcass value ranking behind Itohana 2, Overflow Kaneyama, and TF 148, but ahead of breed greats Michifuku, TF 151, TF 147, and 001. In the Salisbury herd 40/1 ranked 7th for ADG and 6th for MS making him one of the best overall sires in the herd.
